"Speak, for Your servant hears."

Quotes:

"God who formed worlds by the power of His Word
Speaks through the scriptures His truth to be heard;
And if we read with the will to obey,
He by His Spirit will show us His way."
~D. De Haan~

"God speaks through His Word to those who listen with their heart."

Heavenly Father,

I ask that I would always listen with my heart so that I can hear what You wish to say to me.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

Today's little tidbit

Today's "Our Daily Bread" devotion is called "Invite Questions" so I thought I would let my friends ask me questions about anything. If the answer is private, I will message you. Give me at least a day to answer.

Quote I like "Honest questions can lead to faith-building questions."

Heavenly Father,

Make me someone who others will ask questions of not because of me, but because of the Jesus they see in me!

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Three short devotions

I posted these on my facebook. Enjoy!!

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

These are some scriptures I read during devotions time today:

All from Philippians Chapter 4:

verse 11 "Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:"

verse 13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

verse 19 "And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

I needed to read these three verses today as Ben and I are still waiting for his clients to pay him.

Heavenly Father,

Help me to be content no matter what state I may be in. Show me that I can do all things through You who strengthens me. Remind me that You, my God, supply all my needs according to Your riches in Glory. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

Today I found two quotes during devotions time:

"Lift up your eyes, despairing one,
The Lord your help will be;
You have a friend in heaven who cheers,
And calms the troubled sea." ~Anon~

"There is no place where earth's sorrows are felt more than in heaven." ~Author Unknown~

It is truly a blessing, a reassurance to know God cares for me even in my darkest valley and on
my highest mountain. He carries me when I can no longer walk, weak by life's woes.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being so good to me and for caring so deeply for me. I love you!

Love,
Your Princess :-)

Today's insight from my devotions. Here are two other quotes :-)

"We must teach our children clearly
What is right and what is wrong;
Live before them an example-
Godly, righteous, pure, and strong."
~Fitzhugh~

"To teach your children well, let God teach you."
~Author Unknown~

We might not have children right now, but I understand the importance of being a good example, a good role model.

Heavenly Father,

Help me to mimic You in all I say and do so people won't see me but see You! In Jesus' name, Amen!

It seems that I am a horrid keeper of a blog. :S I started out well, but have slacked off a lot lately. It has been almost a year...a YEAR! since I posted something!!

Let's see. Not much has changed since then though. There is still no child, no children for us. Ben is still working hard and I'm just doing my thing. There is more stories that I have started. I hope to finish them all some day! :-)

Not much else is going on.

So I guess that is all.

Thoughts worth more...

I know it has been awhile since I wrote a post of what is going on or what I am thinking. I have a few things I wanted to write and here they are.

First, I just wanted to say something about what we say to someone who has had a loss. We say things like "until you get over it" and think the person needs to "get over it", whatever "it" is. But, I was just thinking about something. Instead of "getting over it" I think we should be healed and be able to remember the one we lost...to death or whatever. Just my thoughts worth more than a penny :-D

Also, I was thinking about this. I am using six week body makeover to lose weight and I've lost about 50 pounds now. If God blesses us with a child (or children), it will be okay. I won't be upset because I lose my figure or whatever. I know the way to lose the weight again. :-D So, God, I'm all ready for the baby blessing to come to me! :-D

When Sparrows Fall

Secrets. There are many secrets in this book When Sparrows Fall by Meg Moseley. Miranda Hanford lost her husband almost two years ago. She named his half-brother Jack guardian of her six children. Jack likes to count things and he notices things are strange in Miranda's household. Too strange and full of laughter, but also mystery. Who is this woman and what secrets does she hold close to her heart? And what secrets does her pastor Mason Chandler hide?

This book is a captivating read. I recommend it!

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

Secrets of the Vine for Women

I read this book in about a day! It was such a wonderful read. I'll probably let friends borrow it. I advise all women to have a read. It is about John 15 and how we can abide in Christ. I'm not sure what else to say except read it!
